Rating by category:
we can recommend it as we enjoyed this hotel. rooms in maury were very clean. la cerveceria, where you can eat, is within walking distance of the property.
Don Juan served dishes within 600 feet off the hotel. We loved the fact that we chose maury. Lovely base for your vacations in Lima.
Nothing to fault.
A well-situated place - not far from plaza mayor. I would stay here again.
Wonderful, classic (older) hotel in the heart of Lima - next to the Plaza de Armas. Clean, safe neighborhood, spacious rooms. The bar is the original one where the Pisco sour was thought up.
It is in a good location for visiting the Plaza de Armas. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. WiFi is free. No problems with room. It is an old, very ordinary hotel, which did not compare favorably with luxury hotels we stayed at in prior nights, when we were on a Machu Picchu tour, but it compares very favorably on price. We did not check out its Maury Bar, where legend has it that the pisco sour was born.
Breakfast was just okay; room lighting was somewhat dim.
The location near Plaza des Armas is excellent, just a few steps to the cathedral and other important historical buildings. The hotel has the charm of old days. My room was large and nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, but their English was poor.
The pisco sour that it sells is the best I have ever tried, indeed they invented.
It looks like if Hotel Maury had a magnificent and luxury past, in fact you pay for that, even when today is quite obvious that the hotel has many details nor attented.
The location was close to the plaza and transportation. The hotel was comfy enough.
Breakfast was not so great..the eggs were cold every morning....we had lots of trouble with the room safe and had to get help several times.
